Surgical Intermediate Care Unit (2A)

 

• 26bed unit designed to provide treatment care and service to adult patients with acute medical surgical and cardiac conditions specializing in complicated surgeries.
• Patient population will include but are not limited to esophagectomies whipples surgicaloncology cases highvolume liposuction multilevel spinal fusions and vascular cases. Other opportunities for this unit will be any surgical patients that require a medication drip that is not appropriate for the medicalsurgical inpatient unit.
• This unit will also be open to medical stepdown and overflow patients to enhance hospital throughput.
• Direct care of the 2A patients will be provided by registered nurses with an ideal ratio of 1:34 patients for step down level of care.

Qualifications :

Required :

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse
• Basic Life Support
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate with others
• Strong analytic abilities
• Additional requirements for the Emergency Room:
  • ACLS
  • PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year of hire
• Additional requirements for the Pediatric Emergency Room:
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • TNCC within one year of hire

Preferred:

• Experience in specific clinical area
•
