About the Application Development & Integration (ADI):
ADI manages the digital application infrastructure for UO Libraries and offers technology services that align with the libraries’ and university’s missions.

Position Summary

The University of Oregon Libraries is seeking a talented and motivated Web Developer to join our Application Development & Integration (ADI) team. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the digital experience for the UO Libraries, ensuring that our web presence is functional, engaging, and accessible.

Minimum Requirements

  • This classification requires a basic foundation of knowledge and skills in systems analysis and related programming support functions generally obtained by a bachelor's degree in computer science, or an equivalent amount of training and applied experience.

Professional Competencies

  • Experience using PHP, Python or similar language.
  • Experience working in front-end web development technologies: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience using source control such as Git.
  • Skilled in designing, implementing, and maintaining Drupal sites.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization, and project management skills.
  • Understanding of information architecture, content strategies, and taxonomy/ontology creation in large-scale research libraries.
  • Experience working with user-centric design and responsive design principles.
  • Experience working with current web accessibility standards that follows best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and enhance a diverse learning and working environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in front-end JavaScript frameworks, such as React, Vue, Angular, or similar.
  • Proficiency in front-end design frameworks such as Bootstrap, Bulma, Tailwind CSS, or similar.
  • Experience with library service and discovery platforms Alma and Primo.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining Primo, DSpace, and LibGuides.
  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, or similar.
