How you will create an impact

Lead a claims team to proactively handle a portfolio of management liability claims, formulating strategies to effectively drive claims to optimal resolution.

• Manage a claims team primarily handling Employment Practices Liability and Directors & Offices Liability claims with some Fiduciary claims for public, private and not for profit entities.
• Train and develop claims adjusters in all areas of claims handling, including early investigations, coverage, litigation management, evaluation, reserving and negotiation.
• Assure compliance with Best Practices and departmental policies and procedures.
• Keep abreast of litigation trends and regulatory updates effecting professional liability.
• Make presentations to senior management on high severity or complex matters and trends.
• Analyze claims trends and statistics to assist the business in proactively managing risks and exposures.
• Work closely with Underwriting counterparts in risk analysis and account meetings.

What you will need to succeed

• 10+ years of insurance claims experience.
• Management experience preferred.
• Strong coverage acumen
• Strong organization and time management skills with an ability to prioritize and meet all deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
• Ability to lead a claims team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to be able to efficiently and effectively manage team assigned caseloads.
• Ability to effectively formulate resolution strategies.
• A successful candidate will be a team player who can proactively identify trends and risks to assist management and underwriting in evaluating accounts and developing policy language.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
