We are seeking a talented and experienced UI / UX Designer to join our team in updating an older ColdFusion application into a modern app with a contemporary JavaScript front-end framework. The ideal candidate will ensure the new application has the right look and feel, utilizing modern Figma libraries and adhering to current design standards. This role involves strategizing and managing UI/UX projects, developing design prototypes, and collaborating with project stakeholders to promote innovative design and user experience. You'll have excellent communication skills in navigating the design requirements, and translating that into a look and feel with mockups, prototypes and a working POC. You'll be working with a small team of front and back-end engineers together to ensure the solution meets the operational requirements of the business.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Update an older ColdFusion application to a modern JavaScript front-end framework.
  
• Ensure the new application has the right look and feel, using modern Figma libraries.
  
• Develop and manage design prototypes using interactive wireframes (low to mid fidelity).
  
• Ensure consistent interaction design throughout the application, setting accurate expectations about what will happen when users interact with elements.
  
• Collaborate with project stakeholders and vendors to effectively promote innovative design and user experience.
  
• Prepare detailed documentation on all aspects of the integrated enterprise design strategy.
  
• Provide support to the development team for the project.
  
• Consult with vendors, contractors, project team, software development team, and consultants to establish and adhere to industry best practices and technical standards.
  
• Apply consistent fonts, colors, and element styles throughout the application.
  
• Incorporate security and privacy considerations into the design.
  
• Ensure the application is responsive and adaptable to different devices, screen sizes, and orientations.
  

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Five years of relevant work experience in design with UI/UX projects.
  
• Understanding of design with accessibility in mind, adhering to guidelines from organizations like the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1)
  
• Experience in strategic design of online web applications.
  
• Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or similar.
  
• Knowledge of interaction design, information architecture, and prototyping.
  
• Ability to implement new design trends, tools, and technologies.
  
• Familiarity with front-end development technologies and coding languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
  
• Strong understanding of design principles, usability, and user-centered design.
  
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with project stakeholders and development teams.
  

Additional Details

The base range for this contract position is $55 - $67/per hour, depending on experience.

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
