Job Title: Travel Surgical Technologist – Operating Room

Location: Hyannis, MA

Duration: 13 Weeks

Department: Operating Room

Assignment Type: Travel/Contract

Schedule: 40 hours per week, 8-hour evening shifts (2:30pm–11:00pm)



Travel Pay Rate: $2,198.50/week

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Travel Surgical Technologist – Operating Room for an exciting job in Hyannis, MA.


Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain a sterile surgical environment in alignment with AORN standards.
• Assist in all OR specialties, with preference for orthopedic surgery experience.
• Pass instruments, hold retractors, cut sutures, and manage counts of sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Prepare and label intraoperative medications, assist with dressings, and handle laboratory specimens.
• Support patient safety, privacy, and dignity throughout surgical procedures and transfers.
• Participate in case turnover/setup and help orient new OR staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical/Operating Room Technician program (civilian or military).
• National Surgical Technologist Certification (NBSTSA) required within 12 months of graduation; must maintain active certification.
• Certification must be recognized by NCCA, ACS, and AST.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Prior orthopedic surgery experience strongly preferred.
