We are seeking a skilled and dependable Tow Motor Mechanic to join our manufacturing team in Mentor Ohio. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on electric and internal combustion tow motors (forklifts), ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency in our operations. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of hands-on experience with electrical tow motor repairs and a solid understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on tow motors and other industrial equipment.
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on tow motors to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Inspect equipment to identify potential issues and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and repairs performed.
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Collaborate with other maintenance and operations staff to support continuous improvement and production goals.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required:
Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in electrical tow motor (forklift) repair .
Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and using diagnostic tools.
Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial environments.
Basic computer skills for logging maintenance work.
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred:
Certification in forklift or tow motor maintenance (OEM certifications a plus).
Experience with both electric and propane-powered equipment.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and procedures.
Manufacturing/warehouse environment with moderate to high noise levels.
Standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
May require overtime or weekend work depending on production demands.
