Job Summary:

Payton Media LLC is a growing company seeking a creative and detail-oriented Video Scriptwriter to join our team. This role involves researching, scripting, and developing engaging short and long-form video content for social media platforms. The ideal candidate will understand current trends, have experience in video production processes, and demonstrate an ability to create high-performing scripts across various industries. This is a remote position with flexible hours.

Due to the specific needs of this role and our client base, candidates must reside in California.

Responsibilities:

• The Video Scriptwriter for Social Media is responsible for researching, developing, and refining both short- and long-form scripts for social media, collaborating on video concepts, staying updated on trends, utilizing data insights to enhance engagement, and contributing to training development.
• Research and create scripts for both short-form (under 60 seconds) and long-form (over 60 seconds) videos, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
• Collaborate with clients and the creative team to develop video concepts and shot lists that are feasible and visually compelling.
• Stay updated on social media trends and incorporate them into content strategies.
• Utilize data and engagement metrics to refine and enhance scripts.
• Provide feedback on video content to ensure quality and alignment with brand voice and audience needs.
• Share insights and participate in training development to support the onboarding of future scriptwriters.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Physical Demands:

This role involves prolonged periods of computer use, including extensive typing, which may result in repetitive motion strain. Candidates are encouraged to have an ergonomic workstation setup for comfort during long work sessions.

Qualifications:

• Full and in-depth understanding of how to research short-form video topics for social media.
• Ability to learn and adapt to the fast-paced social media marketplace, where trends, styles, and techniques evolve frequently across industries.
• Ability to research new industries and niches to create high-performing short-form video scripts.
• Willingness and interest in learning about improving scripts and content for social media, specifically short-form videos.
• Desire to excel as a short-form scriptwriter and create the best possible video scripts for clients.
• Knowledge or understanding of the video production process, ensuring scripts can be produced effectively.
• Willingness to communicate and share ideas to enhance client videos and assist in developing training for future employees.
• Proof of skillset (e.g., past experience, portfolio).
• Ability to create shot lists for videos.
• Ability to research and understand what's trending in different industries to create high-performing short-form video scripts based on this data.
• Ability to work independently and stay organized in a remote environment.
• Strong communication skills, with experience in collaborative settings.

Hourly Rate:

Starting pay is $17.50/hr. Employees are compensated further based on efficiency. Payton Media LLC is committed to transparency and competitive compensation.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.50 - $35.00 per hour
