We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our collaborative tax team. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing all aspects of income tax compliance for our organization, ensuring we meet federal, state, and local tax obligations. Your expertise will help us enhance our tax processes while providing exceptional support to our team and external partners.
### Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed schedules for federal, state, and local income tax compliance, including state and city apportionment for our consolidated federal group.
- Develop schedules for federal and state tax compliance, as well as manage capital accounts for various partnership returns.
- Assist with transfer pricing modeling using advanced Excel tools.
- Prepare supporting schedules for corporate income tax accounting under ASC 740.
- Review fixed asset records to aid in tax depreciation calculations.
- Conduct research and document conclusions as needed.
- Support the review of workpapers for compliance and quarterly estimates, preparing documentation as necessary.
- Ensure timely completion of tasks on the Tax Calendar and help maintain its accuracy.
- Uphold departmental policies and procedures diligently.
- Assist with audits and inquiries from federal, state, and local authorities regarding income and non-income taxes.
- Collaborate on SOX documentation and audits.
- Aid in the integration of acquisitions and process improvements, focusing on data capture at the source.
- Contribute to various projects as assigned.
### Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (Master's or CPA preferred).
- CPA certificate or enrolled agent status is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a tax or accounting role; exceptional Excel skills will be highly valued.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and automated tax preparation software (experience with CorpTax is a plus), as well as general ledger software (SAP experience preferred) and depreciation software (FAS is a plus).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong customer service and organizational abilities.
- Self-starter with strong time management and attention to detail.
### Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to talk and hear; occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching may be necessary.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods.
### Work Environment:
- This role is performed in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment like computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
### Position Type/Expected Hours:
- Flexibility in hours is available, but availability during core work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, is essential. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours each week, with a minimum of three days in our corporate office in Ballwin, MO, especially during busy filing periods.
