Qualifications
Bachelor's or Professional degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
7+ years of experience in all phases of interior and architectural projects, with required multi-family experience
NCIDQ certification preferred
Proficient in space planning, design processes, developing concept imagery, preparing finish selections, furniture layouts, and FF&E selections and specification
Experienced in the creation and review of project proposals, including expectations of workload, project schedule, team size, and project fee.
Experienced in staffing and coordinating a project team.
Strong technical skills in preparing design and construction documents
Excellent graphic, verbal, and written communication skills
Highly organized and collaborative, with strong client and consultant management abilities
Takes Initiative on responsibilities within the project team, and manages multiple tasks efficiently
Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, and 3D modeling/rendering tools (SketchUp, Rhino, Grasshopper, V-Ray)
Experienced in interior finish specification writing (Excel, SpecSources, or SPEXX)
Experienced in construction administration and interior installation, including site visits, RFIs, control samples, shop drawings, and punch lists
Strong sensibility for materials, products, and resources
Knowledge of CA residential building codes required
Responsibilities:
Execute interior design tasks for projects of all sizes across all design phases: space planning, concept, schematic, design development, construction documentation, construction administration, and FF&E Specification and installation.
Lead or aid in the creation of new project proposals.
Manage and maintain project schedules as established by the project manager
Ensure design concepts are safe, functional, code-compliant, and meet client needs and budgets
Lead, mentor, and manage the design team in the production of project material. Lead and coordinate consultant teams, including MEP, Structural, Lighting, Landscape, A/V, and contractors
Create and deliver client presentations
Be able to complete and review standard work associated with the interior design field, including but not limited to: finish plans, furniture plans, schedules, material selections, technical drawing sets, interior details, and specifications
Research, source, and specify interior materials, hardware, lighting, appliances, and plumbing
Oversee library management and coordinate with external consultants, product vendors, and material suppliers
