Job Description



The Plumber is responsible for assembling, installing and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water and drainage systems; as well as study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe.
  • Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors.
  • Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Cuts and threads pipe.
  • Bends pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine or by placing pipe over block and bending it by hand.
  • Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass, and lead, and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay and plastic.
  • Joins pipes by use of screws bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent and caulks joints.
  • Fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking.
  • Installs and conducts major repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers and water softeners.
  • Welds holding fixtures to steel structural members.
  • Properly logs electronic work orders in HotSOS
  • Leaves work area in a clean, neat and safe condition.
  • Able to work extended hours and weekends when a project dictates a need.
  • Must comply with all CFI policies and procedures.
  • Must represent CFI in a professional manner through appearance, dress and professional behavior at all times, as dictated in the Team Member’s Handbook.
  • Must work diligently to gain knowledge and experience to execute their role to its full potential. 
  • Other duties as assigned by Corporate Facilities leadership.

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum of five years experience and license preferred.

Language Skills:

  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effective communication with guests, customers, and team members.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of two-digit numbers.
  • Ability to perform operations using American money, weight, volume, and distance units.

Reasoning Abilities:

  • Problem-solving skills for practical situations with limited standardization.
  • Interpretation of various instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certifications, License, Registrations:

  • Valid driver's license required, with eligibility for company vehicle insurance.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, tasting, and smelling.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving of 100 pounds or more.
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

  • Regular exposure to extreme heat, cold, and vibration.
  • Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation.
  • Loud noise level in the work environment.
