Confidant Luncheonette is inspired by New York City’s vibrant diner and deli culture, bringing a fine-dining level of attention to detail and inventiveness to midday fare in a bright and bustling, yet laid-back environment. For dinner, Confidant will transform into a place of comfort and luxury. Showcasing a seasonal a la carte menu and chef table experience that will spotlight the ingenuity and creativity of the Confidant team. Confidant & its Luncheonette are committed to matching the vibrant innovation and excitement of Industry City and its historic roots through a high level execution, and an intentional, relentlessly evolving menu.

Confidant is looking for a pastry cook who is confident in the basics of pastry production and service. The ideal candidate adapts to change, passionate about pastry and has strong problem solving skills when necessary.nt.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Working alongside Pastry Chef producing needs for Confidants’s dual concept. Including sourdough breads, refined plated desserts, New York diner classics, pies, and cookies.

• Ensure that food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards
  • Follow instructions provided by the chefs
  • Clean the prep areas and handle leftovers appropriately
  • Maintain inventory and supplies
  • Collaborate with the kitchen staff to cook menu items
  • Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 pounds for distances of up to 50 feet and to manipulate them from heights which may require the use of a footstool.
  Skills and Qualifications

• 1 year of professional kitchen experience required 
• Classic pastry skills including but not limited to: dough mixing, mousses, ice cream, bread bake off, and scaling 

• Attention to detail and a sense of urgency
• Team-service experience is strongly recommended.
• The ability to self manage and adapt to changes

*Must have or be willing to obtain food certification.
