Job Description

Outreach & Missions Pastor

Reports To:  Senior Pastor

Objective:

First Baptist Church Enterprise is seeking a biblically qualified and missionally driven Outreach & Missions Pastor to lead our church in equipping members to make disciples of all nations locally, regionally, and globally. This individual will oversee the church’s evangelistic outreach, community engagement, church planting and mission partnerships.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Evangelism & Discipleship

  • Lead the church in developing a culture of evangelism.
  • Organize and lead outreach efforts to engage the local community with the gospel.
  • Provide training on personal evangelism, apologetics, and disciple-making strategies.
  • Work closely with church leaders to integrate evangelism and missions into all church ministries.

2. Local, Regional, and Global Missions Leadership

  • Develop and oversee the church’s missions strategy for local, regional, and global outreach.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with church planters, missionaries, and mission agencies.
  • Plan and lead mission trips, ensuring they are gospel-centered and aligned with the church’s doctrinal convictions.
  • Oversee and equip mission teams, providing theological and practical training for short-term and long-term missions work.
  • Encourage and assist individuals sensing a call to vocational missions.

3. Community Engagement & Mercy Ministries

  • Lead the church in engaging mercy and compassion ministries, ensuring that service efforts are Christ-centered and gospel-driven.
  • Oversee partnerships with local ministries (e.g., Christian Mission, crisis pregnancy centers, food pantries) that align with biblical convictions.
  • Mobilize and equip volunteers to serve the community in ways that open doors for evangelism and disciple-making.

4. Leadership, Administration & Pastoral Duties

  • Provide leadership and pastoral oversight to outreach and mission teams.
  • Work alongside the pastoral staff to ensure missions and evangelism are integrated into the preaching, teaching, and discipleship ministries of the church.
  • Assist in pastoral care, preaching, and teaching as needed.
  • Develop and manage the missions budget, ensuring faithful stewardship of church resources.
  • Communicate regularly with the church body regarding mission efforts, testimonies, and opportunities for involvement.

Qualifications:

  • A clear calling to ministry, with a passion for evangelism, discipleship, and global missions.
  • Meets the biblical qualifications for pastor (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9).
  • Seminary degree (preferred).
  • Agreement with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 and the doctrinal convictions of First Baptist Church.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of pastoral and/or missions leadership experience (preferred).
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to teach, disciple, and equip believers for gospel ministry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in planning and leading mission trips, developing outreach strategies, and discipling believers for evangelism and missions.
