Job Description
As a Medical Billing Payment Specialist, you will play a vital role in our team by ensuring the accurate processing of payments and adjustments from insurance companies and patients. Your responsibilities will include:
Accurately posting payments and adjustments into our EHR system, ensuring precision and compliance.
Interpreting Explanations of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERAs) to identify and post the correct amounts.
Categorizing all denials and zero-payments for further analysis to aid in improving our billing processes.
Identifying discrepancies in payments and reporting issues to management for prompt resolution.
Collaborating with the Billing Team to ensure patient accounts reflect accurate balances.
Assisting patients with inquiries regarding their account balances, providing clear and friendly support.
Upholding compliance with healthcare billing standards and regulations.

What Makes You a Great Fit?
We look forward to getting to know you! Here are the qualifications we're seeking:
An Associate's degree in a related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience; OR
A High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
Familiarity with Cerner or Electronic Health Record systems is preferred.
Strong analytical skills and a passion for customer service.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Attention to detail is essential.
Location & Hours:
This position is based at our corporate office in Getzville, NY, with the possibility of remote work after successful onboarding.
You will work full-time, with flexible daytime hours from Monday to Friday.
Compensation:
We continuously evaluate our compensation and benefits packages to remain competitive. The starting pay for this position is between $18.25 and $18.50 per hour, with annual compensation reviews.
Physical Demands:
This role may require:
Extended periods of sitting, with opportunities to alternate between sitting and standing.
Mobility for repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements.
Occasionally lifting light objects up to 20 pounds.
