Qualifications

To fulfill this Estimator role, a high level of knowledge and/or experience in commercial HVAC estimating and construction projects is required

-
Competency with computerized estimating and digital take off software

-
Understanding and knowledge of SMACNA standards that pertain to sheet metal ducting and HVAC systems

Ability to estimate both design build and plan/spec projects

-
Ability to read, interpret and understand mechanical drawings/prints and specifications

-
Proficient with MS Office Suite and specifically Excel

-
Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills

-
Ability to work and produce a deliverable to a deadline

-
Minimum 3-5 years of proven successful experience preparing estimates for commercial HVAC projects

Responsibilities

-
Manage, organize, and communicate bid documentation for an assigned bid

-
Read, understand, and assign cost to all bid related documents (drawings, specs, instructions to bidders)

Perform detailed take off and unit cost estimates

Perform pricing breakouts as required by customers

-
Request/Obtain/Evaluate Vendor pricing

Electronically maintain records of all working documents and data to back up estimates
