The Maintenance Planner is responsible for generating accurate job plans with complete job sequences that tie together estimated labor resources, parts, materials, equipment, and internal/external services required to complete jobs on agreed upon schedules. The Maintenance Planner will also utilize the current computerized system as the primary tool for job planning and scheduling. Ensure activities are consistent with Phillip 66's core values, company policies and procedures, and applicable governmental regulations.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Developing area maintenance work execution plans in SAP and assigning appropriate schedule week.
  • Generating accurate job packages and cost estimates, releasing planned work orders, and creating/maintaining task lists libraries for repeatable jobs utilizing SAP as outlined under the Routine Maintenance Work Process.
  • Tracking and understanding maintenance cost flow in SAP.
  • Evaluating planned costs versus actual costs and looking for ways to improve equipment-specific work plans to promote safety and environmental excellence.
  • Understanding and tracking materials movements from requisition through receipt.
  • Supporting turnaround planning and occasionally back-filling for area maintenance supervisor.
  • Constructively resolving priority, scope, job step, and resource requirements in collaboration with operations.
  • Critiquing and adjusting plan/task lists for completed jobs based on information from craft and supervisors.
  • Completing work orders, notifications, and documentation as necessary in the maintenance tracking system.
  • Complying with all policies and procedures and Federal, State, and local regulations.
  • Knowing and observing safe work practices including wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Planning work for multiple crafts, including contractors, and providing for all necessary materials and tracking delivery status.
  • Incorporating maintenance, safety, and environmental procedures into all work plans.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills are critical to this position.
Required Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • 2 or more years of experience in maintenance planning and job estimating
  • Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to comply with the following:
    • Travel up to 5% of the time
    • Occasional on-call duties
    • Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
    • Transport articles up to 50 pounds
    • Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines
    • Climb ladders and stairs up to 200 feet in height
    • Work around chemicals, including acids and bases
    • Work around hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat
    • Work outside in harsh weather conditions
    • Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)
    • Maintain face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated operations or mechanical experience, including work in procurement and reliability planning
  • Direct experience reading and understanding process and instrument and equipment diagrams, control logic loops, logic diagrams, isometrics and schematic ladder diagram, and extrapolating drawing specifications as appropriate into the job steps
  • Experience with SAP
  • Ability to scope and define day-to-day routine maintenance jobs in the field with craftsmen, engineers, and operations personnel
  • Demonstrated ability to develop back-up depth in maintenance planning
  • Able to make planning decisions with minimum supervision and be committed to meeting uptime requirements for the area
  • Multi-craft familiarity
  • Excellent skill in oral/written communications, time management, and organization Leadership ability
The Ponca City Refinery is located in Ponca City, Oklahoma, approximately 95 miles northwest of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Its facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes a mixture of light, medium and heavy crude oil delivered via pipeline from Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, the U.S. Rockies and Canada. Infrastructure improvements have enabled the delivery of locally produced crude oil by pipeline and truck. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels and anode-grade petroleum coke. Refined products are primarily distributed to customers by company-owned and common carrier pipelines to markets throughout the Midcontinent region.
