Working Title

Lighting production Assistant

Details

Assists the Lighting supervisor in the implementation of lighting and special effects technologies for Theater, Dance, and School of Music productions. May require evening, weekend and overtime work.

Assist with installation, troubleshooting, and implementation of Lighting and Special effects for MainStage Productions

Assist with maintenance of lighting equipment and supply inventory

Assist with instruction of student employees

May supervise technical aspects of small or student productions

Collaborate with crew members and other members of the production team to assure timelines and needs are met

Troubleshoots typical technical problems.

Required Qualifications

Experience programming ETC and GrandMA light boards for control of moving light fixtures and LED light fixtures.

Experience with DMX and DATA Network controlled lighting fixtures and accessories including Vari*lites, Martins, and Robes.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with chain motor rigging in a large scale tour venue with a crew made up of students and/or professional stage hands.

Experience with the maintenance and repair of theatrical lighting equipment including motorized lighting fixtures, LED fixtures, and all accessories.

Working knowledge of electronic circuit design for special effects. Experience with RGB LED tape lights and dimmers/drivers.

Working expertise in advanced computer networking and current stage electrics and special effects entertainment software.

Salary: $17-$20/hour based on experience

Hours vary week to week. During peak production season up to 30 hrs/week

Hours will include some evenings and weekends
