Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Adult Psychiatric Unit

Location: Syracuse, NY

Contract Duration: 20 weeks

Schedule: Day Shift (07:00 AM – 07:30 PM)

Hours: 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)

Pay: Weekly Gross – $1,620

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join an Adult Psychiatric Unit within a large acute-care hospital system. The role includes providing high-quality patient care, supporting behavioral health needs, and floating between psychiatric units as needed.

This position requires strong communication skills, emotional resilience, and the ability to work in fast-paced inpatient behavioral health settings.

• Provide safe and effective nursing care for adult psychiatric patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by RN/Provider.
• Monitor patient behaviour, vital signs, and overall condition.
• Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when required.
• Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, mental health staff, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Float to additional psychiatric units based on staffing needs.
• Adhere to all safety, infection control, and facility protocols.
• Maintain therapeutic communication and supportive patient engagement.

• Active LPN License (New York State) – Required
• CPR Certification – current or able to be renewed
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (Inpatient/acute care experience preferred)
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as required
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and EMR documentation skills

• Experience in psychiatric , behavioral health , or mental health inpatient settings.
• Previous experience in acute-care hospital environments.
