Are you passionate about jewelry making? Do you dream of mastering the art and craft of creating stunning jewelry pieces? International Diamond Center is offering an exciting hands-on training opportunity as a Jeweler Apprentice. You will work closely with our experienced jewelers, gaining invaluable skills and knowledge in jewelry creation, repair, and maintenance.
What You'll Do As a Jeweler Apprentice, you will:
- Design & Create: Assist with the creation and design of various jewelry pieces, including rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.
- Repair & Restore: Learn and perform basic jewelry repair techniques, such as resizing rings, soldering broken chains, and setting stones.
- Tool Mastery: Operate and maintain jewelry-making tools and equipment.
- Polish & Finish: Assist in the polishing, cleaning, and finishing of jewelry pieces to ensure they meet our high standards.
- Gem Setting: Observe and practice gem setting and metalworking techniques under the guidance of seasoned jewelers.
- Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the jewelry team to meet production deadlines and uphold quality standards.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, techniques, and materials to continuously improve your craft.
What We're Looking For To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a jewelry or metalsmithing course is a plus.
- Passion: A strong interest in jewelry making and design.
- Skills: Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Experience: At least 1 year of hands-on experience in jewelry-making, repair, or design, either through coursework, internships, or previous work. Familiarity with gemstones, metals, and jewelry-making tools is highly desirable.
- Team Player: Ability to follow instructions and work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of gemstones, metals, and jewelry-making tools.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies.
Working Conditions - You may spend extended periods sitting or standing in front of a worktable.
- Expect to spend long hours working with your hands.
- This is a full-time position, including weekends.
