SCOPE: As a 1 st Party PD Adjuster, you will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations, evaluating damages, and providing fair settlements to policyholders in accordance with company policies and industry regulations. This position requires a deep understanding of property and casualty insurance, excellent analytical skills, and strong communication abilities. This position offers a
remote work arrangement, allowing the ideal candidate to work from their preferred location within the Southeast region.
DUTIES : - Conduct thorough investigations of insurance claims, for both coverage and liability, and may include those involving injuries.
- Gather relevant information, including photographs, statements, and documents, to support the claims evaluation process.
- Interview involved parties, witnesses, and experts to gather additional information.
- Evaluate property damage, injuries, and liability factors to determine the appropriate level of coverage and settlement amount.
- Utilize specialized tools, software, and industry knowledge to estimate repair costs and replacement values, as needed.
- Interpret insurance policies, contracts, and regulations to ensure claims processing adheres to company guidelines and legal requirements.
- Analyze policy coverage and exclusions to accurately determine claim eligibility.
- Properly document claim investigations, assessments, and settlements.
- Communicate effectively with policyholders, claimants, attorneys, and other stakeholders to explain claim decisions and negotiate settlements.
- Handle disputes and conflicts, working towards mutually acceptable resolutions.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as underwriting and legal, to ensure accurate and consistent claims processing.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, legal updates, and best practices in property and casualty insurance.
- Adhere to relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
EDUCATION: - Bachelor’s degree in insurance, risk management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an adjuster.
- Adjuster’s License.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: - Strong knowledge of insurance policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Windows-based applications and internet usage.
- Ability to work independently, make sound judgments and handle multiple claims simultaneously.
