Summary of Responsibilities: - Selecting, installing, and preserving the functionality of wires, plugs, panelboards, switchgear, switchboards, and similar.
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine location of framing, installation procedures, staging and scaffolding materials require
- Test electrical systems using tools that include voltmeters, oscilloscopes and ohmmeters to determine where issues may be occurring, the safety of the system and to ensure compatibility
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements and also through reporting violations of policies, procedures and guidelines to immediate supervisor
- Use ladders, scaffolding, platform and lifts to work on electrical systems in residential homes, on roadside poles and in commercial properties
- Maintain equipment to ensure it is in good condition and can operate or be used safely; report any issues to immediate supervisor
- May install new equipment or building services such as electrical circuits, plumbing, boilers, fire and life safety devices, HVAC controls.
- Manage, track, and organize inventory of tools and parts
- May drive company vehicles and operate groundskeeping equipment as required
- Ensure system meets company standards and are installed per all electrical and local building codes
- Perform quarterly, semi-annual and annual preventive maintenance on electrical systems
- Transport various items (e.g. equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of providing materials at job site as required to complete tasks.
- Prepare estimates of materials, equipment and labor required for assignments.
- Diagnose, trouble-shoot and repair failed electrical equipment
- Follow safety procedures required at job sites
- Work simultaneously with other contractors to complete projects in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned
Direct Report: This position will report directly to the Electrical Supervisor.
Physical Requirements: - Walking construction sites
- Working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Bending, kneeling, sitting, squatting
- Must be able to wear common protective safety equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and high visible vests when working on-site.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Knowledge, Experience, & Education Requirements: - Must meet all WY licensing requirements for Journeyman Electrician
- Must have experience in electrical and pneumatic process controls
- OSHA Certified
- Previous work with multi-million-dollar, commercial scale construction projects
- Previous work with hospitals or healthcare projects is a bonus, but not required
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License
- Able to travel as required
