Position Description The Small Group Academic Support Teacher will provides evidence-based academic enrichment support/intervention, specialized services, and professional learning solutions for targeted Shining Stars students in grades 1-6). Students will range from those who are at-risk or struggling and would benefit from a 1:1 model - to those students who have mastered grade level Montessori and Common Core standards and require and even more accelerated teaching and learning experiences.
We are seeking a full-time math and/or reading teachers to work with small groups of our lower( elementary grades 1-3) and upper elementary (grades 4-6) students. Teachers will provide targeted remedial and accelerated instruction with all instructional materials provided.
Essential Responsibilities
Work with small groups of 10-13 students
Provide reading/literacy or math curriculum (training provided)
Develop skill-appropriate lesson plans
Maintain student records as required by SSMA
Ensure supervision of students to assure their safety
Regularly meet with Montessori Elementary Coordinator, classroom guides teachers,, for common and grade level planning planning
Regularly administer formative assessments to check for student literacy or math understanding for the assigned small group and track progress; Analyze outcomes to better inform your instruction
Assist with proctoring of NWEA and other school standardized assessments
Maintain inventory of teaching materials and supplies

Requirements:
Bachelors degree required, however a masters is preferred
Active Teaching Certificate preferred
Prior experience in a Montessori Sch
Working knowledge of Google Suite, MS Office and virtual meeting programs (Zoom, GoogleTeams, etc.)
A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards students, teachers, administration, parents, and other internal and external stakeholders
As a condition of employment, you will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or submit to weekly testing. At this time staff are required to wear an approved mask, if and when reporting to a physical work site where they are interacting with others.
