POSITION SUMMARY :

The role will also support strategic projects and make meaningful contributions that enhance the operational efficiency of the business. The Business Analyst will assist by analyzing data and trends to support business decisions across different business units. This role involves identifying patterns, communicating with multiple teams through reports and data visualizations, and assessing business performance against internal and external benchmarks. The Business Analyst will also assist in making compelling presentations to leadership, demonstrating thought leadership and strategic thinking, and identifying and resolving data issues. The Business Analyst will be a storyteller of data who can communicate complex, data-driven insights in a practical and business-focused manner. The Business Analyst will also retrieve, analyze and summarize business, operations, customer and/or economic data to develop business intelligence and identify actionable opportunities that will benefit the business. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Creates, supports, maintains and automates reports (50%)
  • Assists in the coding and creation of new analytic variables.
  • Develops and automates ad hoc reports.
  • Prepares content for recurring meetings.
• Explores data to provide analytical insights (25% )
  • Produces written and visual summaries of findings.
  • Recommends actionable strategies.
• Provide operational support to strategic initiatives of the business (25%)
  • Oversee and ensure operational efficiencies in key areas, making process/system improvements where needed. Examples of areas include vendor onboarding, product onboarding, product maintenance and data feeds.
  • Develop tools that evaluate and recommend how to best assort products across multiple sales channels
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously and meets strict deadlines.
• Interacts with eComm, Retail, IT, Reporting and Analytics, Merchandising, and Accounting departments to understand and refine data.
• Participate in special projects as needed.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
• Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
• Years of experience: 0-2 years

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Knowledge of programming languages including SQL, Python, R, and Scala
• Working knowledge of business intelligence applications and/or cloud services (e.g., Domo, PowerBI, Adobe Reporting, Google Analytics, Netezza, Snowflake, Excel, etc.), and ability to leverage the reporting capabilities of existing ERP, CRM and/or data management tools
• Ability to effectively interpret complex business requests and translate them into relevant and actionable insights
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills for communicating complex data in a simple, actionable way, both verbally and written, to various business units throughout the organization
• Ability to visualize data in the most effective way possible
• Strong statistical skills & working knowledge in application of skills
• Time management skills with the ability to prioritize and schedule daily activities for the most efficient use of time
• Demonstrates situational leadership, emotional intelligence, and a motivated sense of urgency
• Experience with big data technologies

• Regular computer work, and sitting
• Occasional walking, standing, and lifting up to 50lbs

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
