Are you passionate about public relations, corporate communications, and social media? Do you have a flair for creative writing, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment? CMI Media Group and Compas are looking for an Associate, Public Relations & Corporate Communications to join our team and help shape our brand and voice.

Role Overview:

 

As an Associate, PR/Corporate Communications, you will lead and support initiatives across earned media, organic social media, internal communications, and awards submissions. You will work closely with the SVP of Strategic Marketing & Corporate Communications to align efforts with corporate goals. This role requires creativity, innovation, strategic thinking, and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Corporate Communications:

  • Support internal and external campaigns, including social media and awards submissions.
  • Craft and distribute creative interoffice communications.
  • Monitor social media trends and analytics; propose and implement strategies to improve engagement and efficiency.
  • Assist in crisis communication strategies and rapid response plans.

Public Relations:

  • Develop and execute strategic PR plans.
  • Build relationships with reporters and craft proactive media pitches.
  • Respond to media inquiries and arrange public events as needed.
  • Track and measure PR outcomes and maintain a database of press articles and results.

Awards Program:

  • Identify suitable awards opportunities and manage submissions.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop compelling case studies.
  • Keep the team on track to meet submission deadlines.

Thought Leadership:

  • Manage thought leadership projects, including ideation and content distribution.
  • Develop and maintain a rich content calendar for blogs, newsletters, and social media.
  • Propose new topics to solidify our position as an industry leader.

Content Marketing:

  • Deliver effective content marketing strategies to attract and engage our audience.
  • Manage social feeds and maintain alignment with business objectives.
  • Understand search engine marketing basics to enhance content visibility.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in PR, marketing, or a related field.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and grammar skills.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, WordPress, and Google Analytics.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, resourceful team player with leadership potential.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Familiarity with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Knowledge of social media tools and analytics.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel as needed, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Valid driver’s license.
