Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Manager (ESports) for the Student Centers & Activities department. This position will report to he Executive Director for Student Centers and Activities.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

• Oversees the Rutgers Esports LAN Center within the Busch Student Center.
• Develops, plans, and implements the programs and services offered at the Esports Center.
• Fosters an inclusive community atmosphere through casual and competitive events.
• Works closely with the Student Center team and develops and execute regular events and programs in the Esports space.
• Creates programs and events for the Rutgers community, offering summer camps for students as well as external community members, as well as Rutgers gaming club events.
• Oversees the student staff which assist in operating the facility and ensure the facility is being managed properly.
• Sustains the overall operating budget of the Center, effectively generating revenue to support the program.
• Works closely with the Office of Information Technology to maintain, support, and update the computer infrastructure and networking needs of the space.
• Supports the needs of the student gaming organizations by developing programs and competitive opportunities reflective of our diverse student population on campus, in collaboration with the Director of Student Involvement and Leadership.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in business management and/or related field or discipline.
• Two (2) years of experience in the video game and/or Esports industry.

• ggLeap.
• EMS .
• POS systems.
• High-end gaming PC platforms.
• Gaming consoles (e.g. Xbox, Switch, PS5, Virtual Reality Systems (VR).

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Ability to lift 25lbs.
• Must be willing to work irregular and flexible hours and be accessible by phone including evenings, weekend, and some holidays and from time to time.
