Job Description

SUMMARY

The Aquaculture technician I’s primary tasks will include feeding, cleaning tanks, and removing uneaten food and debris. The technician will also be responsible for cleaning and organizing lab equipment, cleaning and maintaining filters, and keeping the work space clean, organized, and tidy.

Primary RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Prepare and distribute feeds
• Clean lab equipment
• Clean tanks, systems, and work areas
• Water testing and data entry
• Sort, handle, and move livestock as needed

Secondary RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Administer treatments
• Specialty tasks may be assigned based on candidates’ best skill sets that could include live feeds or grow-out organization
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualification/Requirements:

• Weekend and holiday work required
• Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with team when needed
• 1–2-year minimum experience with animal care preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to multi-task, prioritizes responsibilities, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
• Keeping aquariums, a plus – tell us about it!

Physical Requirements

• Standing for more than 7 hours per day
• Able to lift 60 lbs.
