Job Overview

The Accounts Payable / Receivable Specialist is responsible for providing accounting support to accounting supervisors by performing the daily accounts receivable tasks. Our Specialist manages a high volume of transactions, enters data into our systems following defined procedures, updates and maintains accounting records and performs other functions as required.
This is a full-time position with predominantly daytime hours. Extended hours may be required during holiday seasons.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Send payment reminders
  • Records the daily credit card deposits into NetSuite
  • Makes remote deposits of checks and posts customer payments to their accounts
  • Constant review of customer accounts past due and make related collection efforts
  • Performs accounting and clerical functions to support departmental and company goals
  • Investigates questionable transactions
  • Researches and resolves accounting issues
  • Call customers to collect payments
  • Prepares cash bank deposits and customer credits
  • Processing and coding bills for payment
  • Verifying approval on invoices and check requests
  • Preparing checks for accounts payable and expenses
  • Reconciling vendor statements
  • Updating and maintaining vendor database
  • Investigating questionable transactions
  • Researching and resolving accounting problems
  • Preparing 1099’s
  • Additional duties, as assigned, within the Primary Arms Team

Skills and Qualifications
  • Two Year Degree in Accounting is preferred
  • 5 years of Accounts Payable / Receivable experience
  • A solid understanding of the fundamentals of accounting, e.g., debits vs. credits, and GL accounts are required.
  • Familiarity with E-Commerce and retail is a plus
  • Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality
  • Flexibility/Adaptability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Strong time management skills
